## What it does

Your subject starts out as they are in the photo, then a frosty sheen creeps across their clothes. The ice spreads up to the face until they become a clear, glittering ice sculpture standing in the same spot.

## From our test

Our sample was a woman in a knit beanie and black puffer coat in a snowy pine forest, and in the last frames her face, hat and coat had all turned into translucent sculpted ice. Our first take did not freeze her fully, so we rewrote the direction to finish as an ice sculpture, and the render took about 3 minutes.

## Tips for the best photo

- Winter or outdoor photos make the frost feel at home in the scene.
- A front facing portrait from the waist up shows the face turning to ice most clearly.
- Avoid very busy backgrounds, which can compete with the sparkle of the ice.

## Ideas for using it

- Ski resorts and winter shops announcing the start of the season.
- People reacting to a freezing cold morning in a quick post.
- Fans of winter movies making a frozen character tribute.

## Still looks like you

The video opens on your exact photo, so the face, hair, outfit and surroundings carry through the whole effect.

## Movie-style effects without editing software

Effects that used to mean compositing and particle work in an editor, rendered in one pass with lighting that matches your photo.

## How to make it

1. Upload a photo, or pick one from your library.
2. Press Generate. There is no prompt to write; the effect is already set up.
3. Your 5 second HD video is ready in a minute or two. Save it to your library or download it.

## FAQ

### Does the person stay frozen at the end?

Yes. In our test the clip finished with her fully turned into a clear ice sculpture.

### Will the background freeze too?

No. The ice covers the subject while the trees and snow behind stay the same.

### Do I need to write a prompt for Freeze?

No. Freeze is a ready-made effect: upload a photo and press Generate. The directions for the motion, camera and lighting are already built in.

### How long is the Freeze video, and how long does it take?

Every effect makes a 5 second HD video that matches the shape of your photo, portrait or landscape. Most are ready in one to three minutes, and you can leave the page while it renders.

### Does the video have sound?

Yes. Each clip comes with matching ambient sound effects. It does not add music, so you can lay your own track over it in any editor.

### Can I use a photo of someone else?

Only photos of adults, of yourself or of people who agreed to it. Every upload goes through the same safety checks as the rest of PixelDojo.
