## What it does

Your subject turns into a pirate captain in a black tricorn hat and a red coat with gold trim, now standing on the deck of a sailing ship. The clip ends with them grinning and pointing out toward the sea.

## From our test

We tested a bearded man in a gray sweater against a plain wall. By the second frame he wears the hat, a ruffled shirt and a red captain's coat, and the masts and sails rise behind him. His beard and smile carry through. It took about 2 minutes.

## Tips for the best photo

- A waist-up portrait leaves room for the hat and coat.
- A plain background helps the ship scene take over cleanly.
- Facial hair and a smile come through well, so keep the face clear and well lit.

## Ideas for using it

- A Halloween costume post without buying a costume.
- An invite for a pirate-themed birthday or party.
- A fun intro clip for a boat trip or sailing club.

## Still looks like you

The video opens on your exact photo, so the face, hair, outfit and surroundings carry through the whole effect.

## FAQ

### Can I keep my own clothes on?

No. The effect dresses your subject as a captain, with the hat, coat and shirt.

### Does it work for any gender?

Yes. The captain look is applied to whoever is in the photo, and their face stays the same.

### Do I need to write a prompt for Pirate Captain?

No. Pirate Captain is a ready-made effect: upload a photo and press Generate. The directions for the motion, camera and lighting are already built in.

### How long is the Pirate Captain video, and how long does it take?

Every effect makes a 5 second HD video that matches the shape of your photo, portrait or landscape. Most are ready in one to three minutes, and you can leave the page while it renders.

### Does the video have sound?

Yes. Each clip comes with matching ambient sound effects. It does not add music, so you can lay your own track over it in any editor.

### Can I use a photo of someone else?

Only photos of adults, of yourself or of people who agreed to it. Every upload goes through the same safety checks as the rest of PixelDojo.
