Nearly every AI image model here takes a named aspect ratio from a fixed list, and no two lists are identical. 1:1, 16:9 and 9:16 are on almost all of them. Past those three the sets split apart fast, and one model takes no ratio at all. We read the accepted values off each model's own configuration on August 26, 2026. Recraft V4.1 accepts the most at 14. GPT Image 2 accepts the fewest at 4. Ideogram 4 has no aspect ratio field and asks for a pixel resolution instead. The full lists are below.
The accepted ratio lists, widest first
Recraft V4.1, 14 ratios
1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 16:9, 9:16, 1:2, 2:1, 14:10, 10:14, 4:5, 5:4 and 6:10. The longest list in the catalog and the only place 14:10, 10:14 and 6:10 appear at all.
FLUX, 11 ratios
1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9, 9:21, 3:2, 2:3, 4:5, 5:4, 3:4 and 4:3. It is the one model that pairs ultrawide 21:9 with its vertical twin 9:21, so an ultratall frame is a preset rather than a crop.
Nano Banana 2, 10 ratios
1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. A full set of the common photo and social shapes with ultrawide on top.
Riverflow, 10 ratios
1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3, 5:4, 4:5 and 7:3. The 7:3 entry is unique to it across the whole catalog.

WAN 2.7, Grok Image, P-Image and Hunyuan Image 3, 7 ratios
WAN 2.7 takes 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 5:4 and 4:5. Grok Image and P-Image both take 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2 and 2:3. Hunyuan Image 3 takes 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3 and 3:4. None of the four offers anything wider than 16:9.
Z Image Turbo, 5 ratios
1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3 and 3:4. A short list, but at 0.5 credits per image it is the cheapest way to test a composition in one of the five most common shapes before committing to a dearer model.
GPT Image 2, 4 ratios
1:1, 4:3, 2:3 and 16:9. The shortest list on this page. There is no 9:16 in it, so a full height phone frame has to come from 2:3 or from a different model.
Ideogram 4, no aspect ratio field at all

Check the model accepts it before writing the prompt
Each model publishes its accepted values in its API reference. If the ratio is not on that list it will be refused, so confirming it takes a moment and saves a failed request.
Use a custom size only where one exists
Seedream 5 takes an explicit width and height inside its pixel budget, and Ideogram 4 takes a resolution from its own list. Everywhere else, generate at the nearest supported ratio and crop after, rather than fighting the picker.
