Two ways to expand
Set expand_left, expand_right, expand_top and expand_bottom individually in pixels for precise control over one side at a time, or send zoom_out_percentage to push all four sides outward by that share of the original image's dimensions in one field.
700 pixels per side, no exceptions
Every expand direction is capped at 700px, whether you set it directly or reach that width through the zoom-out percentage shortcut. There is no way to request a single side larger than that in one call.
The defaults lean toward one direction
Left, right and top default to 0px of expansion. Bottom defaults to 200px, and the zoom-out shortcut defaults to 20 percent. Left alone, a request adds space below the image rather than around all four sides evenly.
An optional prompt steers what fills the new space
Leave it blank and the model infers a plausible continuation of the existing scene. Add a prompt to describe specifically what should appear in the newly created area.

The directional expand controls need a drag-handle interface Canvas does not have a pattern for yet, so this tool is dashboard and API only for now.
