Magnific Upscaler
Generated on PixelDojo with Magnific Upscaler. Produced by PixelDojo's generation pipeline.
Magnific Upscaler costs 3 credits for a 2x scale that lands under 2048 pixels on the long edge, and our test run finished in about 32 seconds on August 26, 2026. The price is not fixed. It steps up with the output size you ask for, not with a flat per-call rate. We took a square portrait we had on hand, ran it at 2x in creative mode, and kept the result.

The five things that decide what you pay
What the upscale actually changed
Same woman, same red curly hair, same round glasses, same denim jacket over the yellow shirt, same tan backdrop and bag strap. At 2048x2048 the hair strands separate more cleanly, the denim weave has visible texture it did not have at 1024x1024, and skin looks less flat. Nothing in the composition moved.
Three creative engines plus automatic
Sparkle for photos, Illusio for illustration, Sharpy for maximum sharpness, or Automatic to let it choose. We left it on Automatic, which is the default for a reason: it read our input as a photo and treated it like one.
Nine content profiles
Standard, soft portraits, hard portraits, art and illustration, videogame assets, nature and landscapes, films and photography, 3D renders, and sci-fi and horror. Each biases what kind of detail the model invents when creativity is above zero.
Four sliders in creative mode
Creativity, HDR, resemblance and fractality, each from -10 to 10. We left all four at zero for a straight, undirected upscale. Push creativity up and the model starts inventing texture rather than just sharpening what exists.
There is a hard resolution ceiling
10,060 pixels per side and 25.3 total megapixels, whichever comes first. A 16x pass on anything bigger than about 628x628 will hit that wall before it hits the 16x math.
Same endpoint, one field changes the price
POST to /api/v1/models/magnific-upscaler/run with an image URL. Everything else is optional and defaults to a cheap, plain 2x pass exactly like ours.
One image, 2x scale, creative mode. 3 credits, about 32 seconds, 1024x1024 in to 2048x2048 out.
Why Choose Pixel Dojo for Magnific Upscaler
Professional-quality results with cutting-edge AI technology
Price follows output size, not input size
The tier is set by the longer output edge after scaling: 3 credits up to 2048px, 5 up to 4096px, 26 up to 8192px, 52 up to 16384px, doubling again past that. A small source image at 16x can still land in a cheap tier if the result stays under 2048px.
About 32 seconds, measured
Timed on August 26, 2026 for a 2x pass on a 1024x1024 source. It returned inside the API's synchronous window, no polling needed.
Four scale factors
2x, 4x, 8x and 16x. Ours used 2x, the cheapest tier and the one that stays furthest from the 25.3 megapixel output ceiling.
Creative or precision mode
Creative mode can add detail the source never had, guided by an optional prompt and four sliders. Precision mode stays closer to the source pixels. We ran creative with every slider left at its default of zero.
How It Works
Reproduce the 3 credit pass:
Pick 2x before reaching for a higher scale
2x is the cheapest tier and the one least likely to hit the 25.3 megapixel ceiling. Start here and only go up if the result still looks soft.
Leave the sliders at zero for a first look
Creativity, HDR, resemblance and fractality all default to zero. That gave us a sharper, more textured version of the same image with nothing invented, which is the easiest baseline to judge against.
Send the image URL and read back the price
From the tool page or a POST to /api/v1/models/magnific-upscaler/run. Ours charged 3 credits and returned in about 32 seconds for a 1024x1024 to 2048x2048 pass.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know about Magnific Upscaler
How much does Magnific Upscaler cost?
It scales with your output size, not a flat fee. Up to 2048px on the long edge is 3 credits, up to 4096px is 5, up to 8192px is 26, up to 16384px is 52, and it doubles again for anything larger. Our 2x pass on a 1024x1024 image landed in the 3 credit tier.
How fast is Magnific Upscaler?
About 32 seconds for a 2x pass in our August 26, 2026 run, returned inside the API's synchronous window with no polling. Larger scale factors and higher content-invention settings take longer.
What is the difference between creative and precision mode?
Creative mode can invent detail that was not in the source, controlled by an optional prompt and four sliders for creativity, HDR, resemblance and fractality. Precision mode stays closer to the original pixels. We ran creative with all four sliders at zero, which is closer to a plain sharpen than a repaint.
Why pick Magnific over P-Image Upscale?
Control and ceiling. Magnific goes to 16x with nine content profiles and four creative engines; P-Image Upscale tops out lower and has no creative controls, but it starts at 0.1 credit against Magnific's 3. If you just need more pixels fast and cheap, P-Image Upscale is the pick. If you want to steer how the extra detail gets invented, pay for Magnific.
Is there a maximum output size?
Yes. 10,060 pixels on the longer side and 25.3 total megapixels, whichever limit is hit first. A high scale factor on a large source image can exceed that before the scale math does, and the request will fail rather than silently crop.
How do I call Magnific Upscaler from the API?
POST to /api/v1/models/magnific-upscaler/run with your API key and an image URL. Scale factor, mode, engine and the content profile are all optional and default to a plain 2x creative pass like the one we ran.
