Luminous Lattice Bloom

A five-lobed form hangs in absolute darkness, its petals opening like a deep-sea organism or a flower cast in frozen light. Each lobe is edged with a dense, lace-like reticulum that catches and scatters illumination, while the interiors remain translucent veils of pale cyan. At the heart, folds of tissue spiral inward, brighter and warmer, as if a faint amber core were breathing through layers of ice or blown glass. The composition is strictly frontal and centered, isolating the subject so that negative space becomes a void rather than a backdrop. Light appears to originate from within: filaments of white-blue energy trace the veins of each petal, fading into cooler shadows at the rims. The palette is restrained—nocturnal black, glacial white, and a whisper of honey at the nucleus—creating a mood that is both clinical and numinous. The work sits between scientific imaging and Baroque still life: the precision of a radiolarian under a microscope, the theatrical glow of a Caravaggio candle, the ornamental excess of Venetian glass.
