Night Of Falling Stars

A landscape event poster is taped to raw concrete, its heavy uncoated sheet curling at the corners under a single hard spotlight from the upper left. The light carves a crisp shadow and reveals paper grain, slight ink bleed, and the physical weight of the print. Giant condensed vermilion sans-serif type shouts NIGHT OF FALLING STARS across the field; a large cobalt circle overlaps the right side of the headline like a rising moon, turning the last letters into a dark eclipse. Below, a thin black serif line announces an open-air evening at Halden Ridge Observatory. A heavy black date block reads 12 AUGUST / 22:00. Three small callouts sit along the bottom edge: Telescopes open, Live string quartet, Hot cider bar. The palette is vermilion, cobalt, black, and cream against gray concrete—Swiss International Style reduced to type, circle, and tape. The mood is nocturnal and invitational: public astronomy dressed as graphic monument. Lighting is theatrical, the composition architectural, the paper object as present as the event it advertises.
