Lantern Row Night Market

A screen-printed festival poster on cream stock with visible paper fiber. A large flat orange sun disk occupies the center, overlapping stacked condensed navy type that reads LANTERN ROW. Beneath the orb, smaller navy lines announce NIGHT MARKET and the date Friday 18 October, 7 PM to midnight. Across the top edge a thin black wire carries a row of yellow and orange paper lanterns, some cut by the frame. The palette is tightly controlled: warm cream ground, cadmium orange sun, mustard and tangerine lanterns, deep navy lettering, and a solid teal band along the bottom. That band holds three cream phrases—Street food, Live brass band, Lantern making—separated by thin rules. Slight ink misregistration and a faint halftone grain give the print a handmade, mid-century workshop character. Composition is strictly vertical and hierarchical. The lanterns form a decorative frieze; the sun and title occupy the visual heart; event details sit in the lower third. Lighting is implied rather than rendered—the sun and lanterns supply the only sources of glow. The mood is communal, autumnal, and festive, closer to a civic night market than a commercial spectacle.
