Resolution-Flexible
Pick the output resolution per generation. 0.5 MP for the cheapest moodboard previews. 1 MP is the production sweet spot for web/social. 2 MP for editorial work. 4 MP for hero shots and print-spec. Pricing scales accordingly.
FLUX 2 Flex is the resolution-flexible variant of FLUX 2 — pick output megapixels (0.5 MP, 1 MP, 2 MP, 4 MP) per generation. Same FLUX 2 quality core, more flexible cost-vs-fidelity tradeoff, useful when you want exactly the resolution you need without paying for more.
FLUX 2 Flex is the resolution-flexible variant of the FLUX 2 family — Black Forest Labs' flagship image model. The 'Flex' means you pick the output megapixel count (0.5 MP, 1 MP, 2 MP, 4 MP) per generation, trading credit cost against fidelity directly.
Same FLUX 2 quality core under the hood — strong prompt adherence, photoreal subjects, clean composition. The flexibility shines when you want a quick low-res preview before re-running at full 4 MP, or when downstream use only needs 1 MP and there's no reason to pay for more.

Same FLUX 2 quality under the hood — strong prompt adherence, accurate hand rendering, clean photoreal subjects, and broad genre range. The Flex variant is FLUX 2 with the resolution knob exposed; it's not a quality compromise.
Iterate prompts at 0.5 MP for the cheapest cost-per-attempt — same composition and aesthetic as higher resolutions, just smaller output. Once you've nailed the prompt, regenerate the keeper at 2 MP or 4 MP for final fidelity.
FLUX 2 Flex handles the full FLUX genre range — photoreal landscapes, fashion editorial, studio product, stylized illustration, hot-air balloons over Tuscany. Commits cleanly to non-photo styles when prompted explicitly.
Each example shows the exact prompt that produced the result. Copy any prompt with one click.

Editorial portrait of a 30-year-old man with sharp jawline in a navy wool suit, soft side-lighting in a brutalist concrete interior, magazine cover composition, photoreal
1 MP at 3:4 is the production sweet spot for editorial portraits — strong skin texture, fabric weave, lighting transitions. FLUX 2 Flex holds detail at this resolution without needing 4 MP unless you're printing.
1 MP · 16:9 · 1 credit
Wide cinematic landscape of Tuscan rolling hills at sunset, single cypress tree on a distant ridge, warm golden light, painterly photoreal, hyper-detailed
"Single cypress tree on a distant ridge" gives one focal element to anchor the wide landscape. FLUX 2 Flex composes cinematic landscapes cleanly at 1 MP. Upgrade to 4 MP only if the output is destined for print or very-large display.

Studio macro of a handcrafted leather wallet on dark walnut, soft directional rim light catching the stitching detail, premium accessories commercial mood
Macro product subjects show off FLUX 2 Flex's material rendering — leather grain, stitching detail, walnut surface all hold up at 1 MP. For Amazon-listing detail or print catalog, regenerate at 2-4 MP.

Stylized digital illustration of a vintage hot-air balloon festival at dawn, dozens of balloons rising over a misty mountain valley, painterly atmospheric, dreamy palette
"Stylized digital illustration" + "painterly atmospheric" + "dreamy palette" — three style anchors that commit FLUX 2 Flex cleanly to non-photo. Dozens of balloons + misty valley + atmospheric layering produces a rich composition.
1 MP is the production sweet spot — strong detail, reasonable cost, plenty for web / social / blog / editorial use. Drop to 0.5 MP only for cheap iteration; bump to 2-4 MP only when print-spec or very-large display matters.
Prompt iteration at 0.5 MP costs less per attempt. Once you've nailed the composition and prompt, regenerate the keeper at 2 MP or 4 MP with the same prompt + seed. Same aesthetic, more pixels.
Same prompt patterns work across the FLUX family — leading with subject + action, anchoring lighting, naming materials. If you've used FLUX or FLUX Studio, the recipes transfer directly to FLUX 2 Flex.
4 MP is great for print-spec but most digital use never sees the difference vs 1-2 MP. Pay for the resolution you'll actually use downstream. Generating at 4 MP for an 800px-wide blog image is wasted credits.
16:9 cinematic, 3:4 portrait, 1:1 product, 9:16 vertical. FLUX 2 Flex supports the standard aspect range. Generate at the right aspect — composition shifts per ratio.
FLUX 2 family has photoreal as a strong default. For stylized work, commit explicitly to the medium and tradition ('stylized digital illustration', 'storybook quality', 'painterly atmospheric') to push out of photo-mode.

FLUX 2 Pro is the premium tier with a fixed resolution and the highest fidelity. FLUX 2 Flex is the resolution-flexible variant — same FLUX 2 quality core but you pick the output megapixel count per generation. Pro is best when you always want max fidelity; Flex is best when you want cost-vs-fidelity flexibility.
