WAN Image hero — Faroe Islands dawn landscape

Overview

WAN Image is the Replicate-backed text-to-image variant in the WAN family. Designed for fast turnaround at a fixed low credit cost — useful for iteration and high-volume work. Same cinematic aesthetic defaults as WAN 2.7 Image; same prompt language carries between WAN family tools.

Five aspect ratios cover the standard cases (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4). Optional LoRA support via the model='fal-lora' variant — drop in custom-trained weights for specific aesthetic control. For maximum fidelity, use WAN 2.7 Image (Pro tier).

Key Features

WAN Family Prompt Language
Same vocabulary as WAN Video

WAN Family Prompt Language

Same prompt patterns work between WAN Image, WAN 2.7 Image, and WAN Video. If you've prompted any WAN tool, the cinematic / atmospheric vocabulary carries directly. Useful when you want consistent aesthetic across static and motion content.

Atmospheric Landscape
Strong on weather, light, mood

Atmospheric Landscape

WAN Image handles atmospheric landscape subjects (fog, golden hour, storms, alpine light) cleanly. Pair atmospheric anchors with location specificity ('Faroe Islands at dawn', 'Mongolian Gobi at sunset') for cinematic output.

Product + Material
Studio rendering

Product + Material

Strong on product subjects with material-driven rendering — Damascus steel, hand-forged metal, wood grain, polished surfaces. 'Studio macro photograph' + named material + warm directional lighting produces premium commercial output.

Optional LoRA Variant
fal-lora for custom training

Optional LoRA Variant

Switch model='fal-lora' to use the LoRA-supporting WAN Image variant. Useful when you have custom-trained weights for specific aesthetic control. Base 'replicate' variant is for everyday work without LoRA.

Japanese Designer Portrait

Japanese Designer Portrait

Replicate · 3:4 · low credit

Editorial portrait of a Japanese fashion designer in a minimalist Tokyo studio, wearing avant-garde black layered fabrics, soft directional studio lighting, hyper-detailed

"Minimalist Tokyo studio" + "avant-garde black layered fabrics" + "soft directional studio lighting" — three coherent visual elements. WAN Image renders fabric structural detail cleanly. 3:4 portrait + magazine-cover energy.

Faroe Islands Dawn

Faroe Islands Dawn

Replicate · 16:9 · low credit

Cinematic wide landscape of the Faroe Islands at dawn, dramatic basalt cliffs rising from a misty Atlantic, lonely turf-roofed cottage in the middle distance, painterly atmospheric

16:9 cinematic + location specificity. "Lonely turf-roofed cottage in the middle distance" gives one focal element to break the vast landscape, sells the scale. WAN handles misty atmospheric layering cleanly.

Damascus Steel Knife

Damascus Steel Knife

Replicate · 1:1 · low credit

Studio macro photograph of a hand-forged Damascus steel chef knife on a dark walnut cutting board, deep pattern visible in the blade, warm rim lighting, premium kitchenware editorial

1:1 product social. Specific material ("hand-forged Damascus steel", "dark walnut") gives WAN clean surface targets. "Premium kitchenware editorial" anchors aesthetic. Material-driven product photography is one of WAN Image's strengths.

Koi Pond Storybook

Koi Pond Storybook

Replicate · 4:3 · low credit

Stylized digital painting of a koi pond at dusk with floating paper lanterns, cherry blossom petals drifting on the surface, soft pastel palette, dreamy storybook quality

"Stylized digital painting" + "dreamy storybook quality" commits WAN to non-photo. Floating paper lanterns + cherry blossoms + soft pastel give a layered atmospheric composition without overstuffing.

Prompting Tips

Use WAN Image for fast iteration

WAN Image's strength is speed at low credit cost — good for prompt iteration, moodboarding, and high-volume work. Once you've nailed a prompt, regenerate the keeper in WAN 2.7 Image at the Pro tier for hero fidelity.

WAN family vocabulary carries

Same prompt patterns work between WAN Image, WAN 2.7 Image, WAN 2.7 Video, WAN 2.5, WAN 2.2. If you've prompted any WAN tool, your established vocabulary carries directly. Useful for consistent aesthetic across static + motion projects.

Material-driven product subjects

WAN Image renders specific materials cleanly — Damascus steel, hand-forged metal, walnut grain, leather, fabric weave. Name the material explicitly and pair with "studio macro" + lighting direction for premium commercial output.

Location + atmosphere = cinematic

"Faroe Islands at dawn", "Mongolian Gobi at sunset", "Iceland in winter" — location specificity + atmospheric anchor produces cinematic landscapes. Pair with a single focal element (a cottage, a figure, a boat) to sell scale.

LoRA variant for custom style

Pass model='fal-lora' with LoRA weights to use the LoRA-supporting WAN Image variant. Useful for brand-specific aesthetic, character LoRAs, or style-trained weights. Base 'replicate' variant is for everyday work without LoRA.

5 aspect ratios only

WAN Image caps at 5 aspects (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4). For 21:9 cinematic or 4:5 social-spec, use FLUX Studio or Google Gemini Image instead. For everyday aspects, WAN Image covers it.
