How to make an AI micro-drama series episode

Black belt· Pro2:03 videoUses Film Studio

One sentence and a story type in, a vertical episode out: scenes with dialogue and sound, your cast, a score and a cliffhanger.

You need: A twist in one or two sentences, with named characters.

Step by step

  1. Pick Micro-drama and a story type

Second chance, revenge, secret identity, billionaire and more. The story type gives the writer the beats that make people swipe to the next episode.

  2. Write the twist in one or two sentences

Who is wronged, what they hide, the moment it turns. "A florist sees the groom's name on the card: the man who left her at the altar."

  3. Write the scenes, then read the plan

Writing is free. Each scene is 12 seconds with its own shots, lines and sound. Edit any line, change the length or the look, and see the price before anything is made.

  4. Check your cast

Film Studio draws each character and the location. Make one again until it looks right, or cast a saved character.

  5. Film it

Every scene renders as one take with dialogue and sound. Redo any scene with a note, then the score and captions go on and the episode is cut.

Why it works

  • End on a question, never an answer. The cliffhanger is the whole business model of a micro-drama.
  • Name your characters in the idea. Named people get their own portraits and keep their faces scene to scene.

Made this way

The Sunday Flowers, episode one: the film made in this lesson, from the idea above.

Your practice task

Write episode one of a series in two sentences that ends on a reveal, then plan it and read the scenes.

Turn one twist into a vertical micro-drama in Film Studio, with dialogue, sound, a checked cast, and a cliffhanger. In Film Studio, choose Micro-drama, then pick a story type. Here, Second Chance sets up a florist whose past returns through an unexpected wedding order. Write the twist in a sentence or two. The groom abandoned our florist, and now his bride walks in. Press write the scenes. Writing is free. Review five 12-second scenes, the look, vertical frame, dialogue, captions, and one score. Change anything here. Check the price before anything is made, then choose make the cast. Film Studio draws the cast, location, and props, then checks every picture for free. Use make again on flagged pictures. When everything looks right, press looks right, film the scenes. Each scene films as one take, with its own shots, spoken lines, and sound. Here, the first scene includes the counter exchange, the door closing, and street noise. Every scene is reviewed after filming. Here, scenes three and five have suggested fixes. Redo the flagged scenes with those fixes, or choose cut it as it is. Film Studio now cuts the scenes together with their sound. Lays one score across the edit, and adds the title, character name tags, and end screen. Your finished episode is saved to your library. Play it through here, then use download to save the vertical video, ready to post wherever you share your stories. Ten minutes. If we're late, you refund everything. Double price. No refunds. Fine. No lilies. He buys those every Sunday. You've turned one twist into a finished episode. Next, try another story type in Film Studio.
