How to make a narrated AI short film with captions
Switch Film Studio to Narrator and a voice tells the story over the pictures, recorded free, with free burned-in captions in the style you pick.
You need: An idea in a sentence or two. Documentaries, fables and recaps suit a narrator best.
Step by step
Switch to Narrator
In Film Studio, type your idea, choose Just an idea and switch Dialogue to Narrator. Press Write the scenes: writing is free.
Pick the voice
On the plan card, press Change on Audio and pick the narrator: Wise Woman, Calm Woman, Deep Voice Man, Patient Man and more. The narration is recorded free.
Pick a caption style
Press Change on Captions and choose Pop, Highlighter or Clean. The words light up as they are spoken, at no extra cost.
Read the narration lines
Every scene has its own Narration line, like
In her first winter, an empty hole feels like failure.
Rewrite any line before you film.
Cast, film and cut
Press Make the cast, check every picture, then Looks right, film the scenes. A one-minute film is about 378 credits. The review flags anything worth a redo; press Cut it as it is when you are happy.
Why it works
- Short lines read best: one thought per scene, said in the time the scene runs.
- Narration and captions can still change after the cut: change the voice or caption style and the film re-cuts for free.
Made this way
Your practice task
Make the same idea twice, once with dialogue and once with a narrator, and compare.

Turn your idea into a short film with a narrator, burned-in captions, and music in PixelDojo Film Studio. Type your idea. Here, a fox surviving her first winter. Switch from dialogue to narrator to tell the story over pictures. Press write the scenes. Writing is free. Check the plan. Five 12-second scenes, a live-action look, a widescreen frame, and narrator audio. This one-minute film comes to about 378 credits. Use audio's change control to choose your narrator's voice, from wise woman to deep voice man. We'll keep wise woman here. The narration is recorded free. For captions, press change and pick pop, highlighter, or clean. This film uses highlighter, now shown on the plan card. Captions are free too. Every scene has its own narration line. Read through and rewrite any line before anything is made. When you're ready, press make the cast. Check every picture. Ember the fox, the clearing, the den, and the mouse prop. Once they look right, press looks right, film the scenes. Each scene films as one take. Its narrator's line stays with the scene, ready to go underneath the pictures when the film is cut. The review flags anything worth fixing, here in scene three. Choose redo this scene to use its note, or press cut it as it is to continue. The cut has narration on every scene, captions burned in, and one score underneath it all. Your film is already saved in your library. In her first winter, an empty hole feels like failure. You've planned, narrated, captioned, and cut your film. Next, try another story with a different narrator's voice.
