LTX Studio alternative

LTX Studio alternative: storyboard the scene, then shoot every frame

LTX Studio turns scripts into storyboards and shots on its own LTX models plus partner models. Pixel Dojo does the same job on Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 and WAN 3.0, with Film Studio for whole films and a price on every shot before you render.

We wrote a tiny scene: a fire lookout ranger arrives at her tower at dusk, scans the ridges and spots smoke. We made the storyboard frames first, kept her the same in each one, and then turned the frames into shots.

30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

She climbs the last steps of the lookout stairs, pauses to look out over the ridges and takes a sip from her thermos, the sky deepening to purple, wind in the pines, boots on wooden steps.

What LTX Studio does, in plain terms

LTX Studio comes from the team behind the LTX video models. Its pricing page lists LTX-2.5 and LTX-2.3 on every plan, partner models such as Kling 3.0 Pro, Seedance 2.0, Veo 3.1 and Nano Banana 2 on the paid tiers, and tools for AI storyboards, pitch decks, consistent Elements and node based Flows.

In short, it is a pre production and filmmaking suite: a script becomes a storyboard, and the storyboard becomes shots. If that is your job, the question is where else you can do all three steps.

Film noir on WAN 3.0 with rain hiss and a passing car, for 10 credits.

Black and white film noir shot: a detective in his fifties in a trench coat lights a match under a flickering streetlamp on a rainy cobbled street, smoke curling, a slow dolly in, rain hiss, a distant saxophone and a car passing.

WAN 3.010 credits5 s720P16:9

2D storybook animation on Kling 3.0 with water sounds.

Hand drawn 2D animation in a storybook style: a small paper lantern drifts across a dark forest pond and a crowd of glowing moths follows it, ripples spreading, soft painted textures, gentle water sounds and a quiet flute.

Kling Video v3 Standard (Text)20 credits5 s16:9Audio

A period drama crane shot on WAN 3.0 with a piano waltz, for 10 credits.

Period drama, slow crane shot rising over a candlelit 1920s ballroom: couples in evening dress waltz in wide circles across a polished parquet floor while a pianist in his sixties plays a grand piano, chandeliers glowing, warm film grain, a slow waltz on piano and the swish of gowns.

A chase shot on MiniMax H3 at 768p.

Low drone shot racing alongside a vintage silver roadster speeding across a white salt flat at sunrise, a long plume of salt dust behind it, mountains on the horizon, engine roar and wind.

Why frames come before motion

A storyboard frame is cheap and a video shot is not. Getting the frame right first fixes the face, the costume, the light and the composition before you pay for motion.

The hard part is keeping the same person from frame to frame. We made the wide shot first, then passed it as a reference image for the next frame so the ranger kept her hair, glasses and fleece. Each frame then became the start frame of its shot.

Film Studio does this for a whole film: script, cast, storyboard, clips and an editor pass over the cut. We did it by hand here so you can see each step.

The lookout scene, frame by frame

Frames on Nano Banana 2.1, the second one made with the first as its reference. Then each frame became a 5 second shot. Each tile shows its settings and credits.

Frame 1, Nano Banana 2.1: a wooden fire lookout tower on a ridge at dusk with the ranger at the foot of its stairs

Cinematic wide establishing shot of a wooden fire lookout tower on a forested mountain ridge at dusk, a woman ranger in her forties with short black hair, round glasses and a maroon fleece climbing the outside stairs with a thermos, purple sky and the first stars, anamorphic film look.

Frame 2, Nano Banana 2.1 with frame 1 as reference: the ranger at the round map table scanning the ridges with binoculars

Same woman from the image, now inside the glass walled fire lookout cabin: a medium shot of her at the round map table using binoculars, short black hair, round glasses and maroon fleece unchanged, last orange light through the windows, forested ridges outside, cinematic film still.

She lowers the binoculars, narrows her eyes at something far away and says quietly, "Smoke on the north ridge." Then she reaches for the radio on the shelf, the last light fading over the mountains, wind against the glass and a soft radio crackle.

  • The second frame kept her short black hair, round glasses and maroon fleece from the first, for 1.5 credits.
  • Seedance 2.5 kept the wide frame's composition and dusk colors and added her sip from the thermos with wind in the pines.
  • Kling 3.0 started from the cabin frame and kept the map table, the thermos and the dusk light through the shot.
  • Making frames first meant we only paid for motion once the composition was right.
