Tripo alternative

Tripo alternative: from one good image to a 3D asset

Tripo is a dedicated 3D generator. Pixel Dojo runs Hunyuan 3D and Rodin for meshes, next to the image models that draw the input and the video models that spin it, all on one plan.

Image to 3D lives or dies on the input picture. We drew one treasure chest on four image models, then spun our pick into the turntable above to check it from every side before making a mesh.

27.5 credits ($1.72) per 5 s clip with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

The treasure chest stays centered and perfectly still while the camera orbits one slow full circle around it, like a turntable spin for a 3D asset, plain light grey background, even studio light, the lid stays closed

How image to 3D actually works

An image to 3D model looks at one picture, or a few, and predicts the full shape and texture of the object, including the sides it cannot see. Everything it gets wrong usually traces back to the input.

So the input image is the real work. It needs the whole object in frame, a plain background, even light without hard shadows, and a three quarter view that shows the top and two sides. A character needs a neutral A-pose or T-pose so the arms come out separate from the body.

That is why we start in an image model, check the design in a turntable, and only then make the mesh.

More asset work for games and 3D print

Every image and clip below was made on Pixel Dojo with the prompt shown.

Kling 3.0 orbited our Nano Banana 2.1 chest from its first frame. Use a spin like this to check the back before you make the mesh.

A stylized figurine of a stonemason in her forties with a dark braid, leather apron and chisel, standing in an A-pose

A clean A-pose character on Nano Banana 2.1, the pose riggers ask for.

Single stylized 3D figurine for a game: a sturdy stonemason in her forties with a dark braid, a weathered face, a leather apron and a chisel tucked in her belt, standing in a relaxed A-pose, full body from head to boots, centered, plain white background, soft even studio light, smooth clay render look

Seedance 2.5 circled the figurine and invented a believable back: the braid, the apron straps and the belt.

The figurine stays standing in the same A-pose while the camera circles all the way around her in one smooth turntable orbit, showing her back and braid, plain white background, soft even light, no other movement

Game prop reference sheet on a plain light grey background: one stylized brass ship lantern with a glowing amber flame and a curved iron handle, shown four times in a row from the front, the side, the back and from above, same scale and lighting in every view, hand painted texture style, no text

Each image model got the same brief for a hand painted game asset: centered, three quarter view, plain light grey background, even light. Every tile shows its settings and credits.

Seedream 52.5 credits
  • All four kept the whole chest in frame on a plain background, the first thing an image to 3D model needs.
  • Nano Banana 2.1 read hand painted most literally, with chunky planks and a weathered lock, so we used it for the turntable.
  • FLUX 3 Image drew the cleanest silhouette, with small feet that read clearly as geometry.
  • GPT Image 2.5 and Seedream 5 lit the chest most evenly, which keeps baked shadows out of the texture.

Why this page shows images and turntables, not meshes

A 3D model comes out as a GLB file, and the tiles on this page can only play images and video. We sent the Nano Banana 2.1 chest to Rodin and got back a textured GLB mesh, ready for Blender or a game engine, but a web tile cannot spin it for you.

So we show the two things that decide the result: the input image, and a turntable clip that previews every side of the design.

Tripo vs Pixel Dojo for 3D work

Tripo's own pricing page blocked our reader, so the Tripo column comes from the listing TRIPO publishes on AWS Marketplace, read on October 15, 2026.

When Tripo is the better pick

If 3D is your whole job, Tripo goes much deeper than we do: retopology, segmentation, part completion, auto rigging and animation are all built in. A studio making game assets every day should look there first.

If 3D is one part of a bigger project, such as concept art, a product shot, a turntable for a pitch and a few meshes, one plan with every model is the simpler deal.

What our 3D prep cost

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Commercial use is included on every plan.

The four chest images cost between 1 and 2.5 credits each, the chest turntable 20 credits and the figurine turntable 30, and every tile lists its own price.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.

Tripo questions

What is a good alternative to Tripo AI?

Pixel Dojo runs Hunyuan 3D and Rodin for image to 3D, with image models to draw the input and video models to preview it as a turntable, on one plan.

What makes a good image for image to 3D?

The whole object in frame, a plain background, even light, and a three quarter view. For characters, a neutral A-pose or T-pose, like our stonemason figurine above.

What file does an AI 3D generator give you?

Usually a GLB mesh. Our Rodin test returned a textured GLB, a standard format that Blender and game engines import.

How much does the Tripo API cost?

TRIPO's AWS Marketplace listing sells 12 month packs of 500,000 credits for $4,500, 1,000,000 for $8,000 and 2,000,000 for $14,000, with overage at $0.01 per credit.

Can I preview a 3D design before making the mesh?

Yes. Animate the input image as a turntable on Kling 3.0 or Seedance 2.5, as we did with the chest and the figurine, and check the back before you spend credits on a mesh.
