Video Ocean alternative: five ways to keep making vertical shorts

Pixel Dojo puts WAN 3.0, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0 and MiniMax H3 on one plan, shows each clip's credit price before you generate, and has Sensei to plan a short shot by shot.

Video Ocean, from HPC-AI Tech, turned prompts, photos and even a viral short into new clips. When we tried to open video-ocean.com on October 15, 2026, the address did not resolve. So we wrote one vertical street food brief and ran it on four engines we carry.

10 credits ($0.63) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

Vertical handheld street food shot at a busy morning market: a cook in her fifties with a striped apron presses a ball of masa into a round tortilla, flips it onto a hot clay comal where it puffs up, steam curling, shoppers blurred behind, warm low sun. Sound: sizzle, market chatter, a radio playing softly.

What Video Ocean did, and why people look for a swap

HPC-AI Tech described Video Ocean as a way to paste a TikTok or YouTube Shorts link, get back an editable shotlist with prompts, swap in your own product image, check the credit cost and generate a new video from the same structure.

Its January 2026 post listed Starter at $9 a month for about 60 seconds of video, Creator at $29 for about 220 seconds and Pro at $59 for about 500 seconds. When we checked on October 15, 2026, video-ocean.com did not load at all.

The list below covers the same jobs on Pixel Dojo: casting the engine, planning the shots, keeping a character and knowing the price first.

More shorts and stills we made for this page

Every clip and image below was made on Pixel Dojo with the prompt shown on its tile.

A farrier in his forties with a grey stubble beard and a leather apron holds a horseshoe in tongs beside a glowing forge, a chestnut horse behind him

A character still on Seedream 5, made to be animated next.

Documentary portrait of a farrier in his forties with a grey stubble beard and a leather apron, holding a horseshoe with tongs beside a glowing forge in a stone barn, a chestnut horse waiting in the background, soft window light, 50mm, film grain.

Seedream 52.5 credits

The same still as the first frame on Kling 3.0, so the farrier stays the same person in motion.

The farrier lifts the glowing horseshoe from the forge with his tongs, turns it to check the shape and glances up at the camera with a small nod, the chestnut horse shifts its weight behind him. Sound: crackling forge, a soft snort from the horse.

An aerial travel shot on Veo 3.1 Lite for 6 credits.

Aerial tracking shot of a red and white paraglider soaring along a green mountain ridge above a valley of patchwork fields, late afternoon sun, wisps of cloud below, smooth drone glide.

A calm animal short on WAN 3.0 with sound built in.

Close up of a calm capybara sitting chin deep in a steaming outdoor hot spring among smooth rocks, a yuzu fruit floating beside it, snowflakes drifting down, soft winter light, the camera slowly pushes in. Sound: water gently lapping, a light wind.

One street food short on four video engines

We wrote one vertical 9:16 brief, a tortilla cook at a morning market, and ran it unchanged on four engines. Each tile shows the settings and credits it used.

  • WAN 3.0 kept the cook's face and the busy market in frame and ended on the tortilla puffing up, all for 10 credits.
  • Seedance 2.5 started on her face and moved in to a close up of the tortilla, the most cinematic of the four.
  • Kling 3.0 stayed tight on her hands, with steam rising off a dark griddle, good for a process clip.
  • MiniMax H3 Turbo gave the warmest light and the busiest market behind her for 7.5 credits.

Five ways to replace Video Ocean on Pixel Dojo

  • 1. Cast the engine per short

Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, WAN 3.0 and MiniMax H3 Turbo each read the same brief differently, as the test above shows. Run two, keep the one that fits the feed.

  • 2. Let Sensei plan the shots

Video Ocean turned a viral short into a shotlist. Sensei, our director agent, writes a shot plan from your brief, prices every step, waits for your approval and reviews every take before it hands it back.

  • 3. Keep a character with Character Studio

Save a character once and call it by @name in any prompt. Or do what we did with the farrier below: generate a still, then animate it as a start frame.

  • 4. Start from your own product photo

Every major video model here takes an image as its first frame, so a product shot becomes the opening of the clip instead of a loose reference.

  • 5. Finish the short in one place

Add auto captions, text to speech or a text to music bed, and reframe a wide clip to vertical, without exporting to another app.

When Video Ocean was the better pick

Pasting a link to someone else's short and getting its shot structure back was a clever trick, and nothing on Pixel Dojo copies another creator's video for you. If that is the one job you need and Video Ocean comes back online, it was built for it.

If you want to plan your own shots, pick from several top engines and see the price before every clip, we think Pixel Dojo is the steadier home.

What a short costs here

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.

Our four test clips cost 10 credits on WAN 3.0, 30 on Seedance 2.5, 20 on Kling 3.0 and 7.5 on MiniMax H3 Turbo, each for 5 seconds at 720p.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.
