VidRush alternative

VidRush alternative: shoot the documentary b-roll yourself

VidRush assembles whole long form videos from a brief and starts at $99 a month. Pixel Dojo gives you the shots, the narration and the thumbnail on plans from $10, with the price of every step shown first.

VidRush is built for 6 to 60 minute documentaries and explainers made from stock and web footage. We wanted original footage instead, so we made a short sequence about a coastal salt works: three shots, a narration line and a thumbnail.

30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

VidRush alternative: the short answers

  • What is VidRush?

VidRush turns a brief, a script or a voiceover into a finished long form video of 6 to 60 minutes, with AI agents for research, script, motion, editing and sound, and a plan you review before it generates.

  • What does VidRush cost?

VidRush plans run from Starter at $99 a month for 2,000 credits to Studio at $4,990 a month for 150,000 credits. Its docs estimate 44 credits per finished minute.

  • What is VidRush not built for?

Its home page says it is not built for vlogs, gaming, reactions, software tutorials or Shorts and Reels.

  • Why look at Pixel Dojo instead?

If you want your own original footage, narration and thumbnails rather than a finished edit from stock, you can make each piece here on plans from $10 a month.

  • Seedance 2.5 gave the most cinematic opener: the worker walks toward the camera down the center path while the pink sky mirrors in the ponds.
  • Kling 3.0 Standard nailed the texture shot, with wet crystals piling up on the rake for 20 credits.
  • WAN 3.0 delivered the dusk closer with the worker crossing the frame for 10 credits, the cheapest clip of the three.
  • GPT Image 2.5 spelled both thumbnail lines correctly on the first run, for 2 credits.

When VidRush is the better pick

If you publish a 20 minute documentary every week and want the research, script, stock footage and edit done for you, VidRush is built for that, and its per minute price drops as the plans grow.

If you want original footage nobody else can license, a narrator voice you choose and a thumbnail to match, we think making the pieces here is the better deal. Sensei can plan and price a whole sequence, then wait for your approval before it starts.

How we would build a long form episode here

We start with the script, then make one establishing shot, one detail shot and one closing shot per chapter, as in the salt works test. Each clip is 5 seconds at 720p, which is plenty for b-roll under narration.

Text to speech reads the narration line by line, so a retake costs one line, not the whole episode. The thumbnail comes last, once we know the strongest frame.

For a recurring host or presenter, we save the person once in Character Studio and call them by @name in every prompt, so they look the same in episode ten as in episode one.

What the salt works sequence cost

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.

The opener cost 30 credits, the rake detail 20, the dusk closer 10, the narration 0.5 and the thumbnail 2. Each tile lists its own price.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.
