Characters · Lesson 3 of 6
How to use your saved character in any AI image prompt
Type @ and a name in any tool to bring your saved character in, photos and all.
You need: A saved character in Character Studio.
Step by step
Save the character once
In Character Studio, build or upload a character and give them a name. Their saved photos are what every @mention brings along.
Type @ in any prompt
Open any image tool, like Seedream 5, and type @ where the person belongs in the sentence. Your library opens right above the prompt: characters, objects and products.
Type a few letters and press Tab
Jun narrows it to Juniper. Press Tab (or Enter) to pick, and she shows under From your library.
Finish the scene and generate
"@Juniper laughing on a rooftop at golden hour, wind in her hair, city skyline behind her." Her photos go in as references automatically, so you never upload them again.
Why it works
- @mentions work in every generation prompt: tool pages, Canvas, Sensei, the API and MCP.
- Put the mention where the person appears in the sentence. "@Nova pours coffee" reads clearer to the model than a name tacked on at the end.
Made this way

Your practice task
Use the same @character in an image tool and a video tool on the same day.

Use a saved character in any PixelDojo prompt, and bring the reference photos along with a simple at mention. Start by saving your character once in Character Studio. Here, Juniper is already saved, with four reference photos that establish the look we want to reuse. Those references are the important part. Every time you mention Juniper from your library, that saved look comes along, instead of making you attach her photos again. Open any image tool. We're using Seedream 5. In the prompt, type an at sign. Your library opens right above it, with characters, objects, and products available to pick. Keep typing the name to narrow the list. Here, Jun finds Juniper, leaving just the character we need. Press tab to pick her, and return to writing your scene. Now finish the scene around her name. Juniper, laughing on a rooftop at golden hour. Wind in her hair. City skyline behind her. The mention stays in the prompt. Check from your library above the prompt. Juniper appears there, confirming her photos go in as references. Then press generate. This image costs 2.5 credits. Same face, new scene, without uploading a photo. At mentions work the same way across every tool, including Canvas, Sensei, the API, and MCP. Save once, mention by name, and keep the references. Next, try Juniper in a different scene or tool.
