How to make an AI character from scratch

White belt· Beginner1:47 videoUses Character Studio

Tap picture tiles for type, age, hair and style, get four takes, keep one. Your character is ready for any scene, ad or trend.

You need: Nothing. No photos and no prompt. · Start to finish, step 6 of 10

Step by step

  1. Click New, then Build a character

No photos and no prompt. Every trait is a row of picture tiles, so you choose looks instead of describing them.

  2. Pick a character type

Realistic, anime, 3D animated, or a cat, fox, frog, robot and more. The type sets how every other pick is drawn.

  3. Tap the traits you care about

Gender, age, build, hairstyle, hair color, eyes, features, style and accessories. Every row is optional: skip one and the builder chooses.

  4. Name them

The name is how you call them into any prompt later: type @Juniper in any tool and her look comes along.

  5. Make four takes, keep one

Make four takes costs 5 credits. Pick your favorite and press Keep. Not right? Four new takes, or edit a trait and try again.

  6. Make them perform

Your character lands on the Perform tab: dances and trends ready to run, plus Copy any trending video. Use in a film and Use in an ad sit in the header.

Why it works

  • Go wild on one or two rows and leave the rest. Extreme picks read stronger when they are not competing.
  • A signature detail (gold hoops, a vintage denim jacket) is what makes a character recognizable from across a room. Add one.

Made this way

Duke: eleven builder tiles, one character sheet, one 16-second render.

Your practice task

Build one realistic character and one animal character, then run the same dance on both.

Build an AI character from picture tiles in PixelDojo without photos or a prompt, then make her perform. Start in Character Studio. Click New, then build a character to choose her look from picture tiles instead of uploading photos or writing a description. Choose Realistic for this character. There are 15 character types, with options ranging from anime and 3D to cats, foxes, and robots. Next, pick Woman in 30s in the Gender and Age rows. Every row is optional, so skip any choices you do not care about. Open Hairstyle and choose Curly. Use the pictures to pick the look you want without needing to describe the hairstyle in words. For Hair Color, choose Ginger. The selected tile gets a pink outline, and Ginger appears alongside Curly in your picks on the right. Choose Retro and name her Juniper. To call her into any prompt, use At Juniper, then click Make 4 Takes, which costs 5 credits. When the 4 takes are ready, pick your favorite from the thumbnails. The first one is selected here. Press Keep Juniper to save her. Juniper lands on the Perform tab, with dances and trends ready to run. There is also Copy Any Trending Video. Open AI Dance for her first performance. Choose Relax for a free run, then press Generate. The status changes to Making Your Video While It Runs in the Slower Queue. You built Juniper from tiles and started her first dance. Next, try another performance from the Perform tab.
