Flat AI alternative
Flat AI alternative: from a cast portrait to a talking scene
Pixel Dojo takes an original character from portrait to scene to a spoken line with sound and captions, prices every step in credits before you run it, and never bills by the hour.
Flat AI pairs a $20 Unlimited plan with studios that bill by the hour, including a Cinema Studio for short films with a cast. We ran the same kind of job here, one character and one line of dialogue, and kept every step on the page.
30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

The rest of a creator toolkit, on the same plan
Flat AI bundles logos, thumbnails and music videos. We made each of these on Pixel Dojo with the prompt shown.
Seedance 2.5 animated the scene still and spoke the line with birdsong behind it, for 30 credits.
He sets down the scissors, looks up from the juniper at the camera and says, "Patience is the only tool that never goes dull." Then he smiles. Sound: birds outside the glass, a soft snip, his calm voice.

A clean logo with the name spelled right, on Ideogram 4.5 for 2 credits.
Minimal logo for a seaside bookshop named "TIDEPOOL BOOKS": a simple open book whose pages curl into a small wave, the name in a friendly rounded serif below, navy on sand, flat vector style.

A video thumbnail with bold headline text on GPT Image 2.5.
Video thumbnail for a baking channel: an overhead shot of a crusty round sourdough loaf with a deep ear on a floured board, bold white headline text "MY FIRST LOAF" on the left with a thin dark outline, warm kitchen light, high contrast.
A music video shot on WAN 3.0 with drums and bass built in, for 10 credits.
Music video shot: a drummer in his thirties plays a fast fill on a small kit in a dark room lit by pink and cyan neon tubes, sweat glints, the camera circles slowly, haze in the light, loud drums and a bass line.
How we built a talking scene in four steps
- 1
Cast the character
Nano Banana 2.1 painted an original character: a bonsai gardener in his sixties with a grey ponytail, wire glasses and an indigo jacket. On Pixel Dojo you can save him in Character Studio and call him by @name in any later prompt.
- 2
Put him in a scene
We gave the portrait back to Nano Banana 2.1 as a reference and asked for a greenhouse workshop, keeping his face, glasses, hair and jacket unchanged.
- 3
Give him a line
Seedance 2.5 used the scene as its first frame, animated him looking up from the juniper and spoke the line with birdsong and a soft snip behind it.
- 4
Caption it
Auto captions transcribed the line and burned it in word by word, ready for a feed that plays muted.
Every step, exactly as it came back
The outputs of the four steps above, in order, with the spoken clip shown captioned. Each tile shows what it cost.

Character reference portrait of an original character: a bonsai gardener in his sixties with a grey ponytail, round wire glasses and an indigo work jacket, neutral warm grey backdrop, soft key light, chest up, sharp detail.

Place this exact man in a small glass greenhouse workshop full of bonsai trees, trimming a juniper with small scissors at a worn wooden bench, warm afternoon light through dusty glass, wide 35mm frame. Keep his face, glasses, grey ponytail and indigo jacket unchanged.
- His face, glasses, ponytail and indigo jacket held from the portrait to the scene to the moving clip.
- Seedance 2.5 spoke the full line within 5 seconds and closed on a natural smile.
- The captions matched the spoken words and highlighted each word as he said it.
- The two stills cost 1.5 credits each, the clip 30 and the captions 5.

Habits that keep a character on model
Start on a plain backdrop
A chest up portrait on neutral grey gives every later step a clean read of the face and clothes.
Name what must stay
Our scene prompt listed his face, glasses, hair and jacket. Naming them is what kept him the same man.
Animate from the still
Use the scene as a first frame instead of describing him again in text, so the clip starts from the look you approved.
Write the line in quotes
Put the exact words in quotation marks and add the sounds you want under them. Seedance 2.5 spoke ours word for word.
When Flat AI is the better pick
If you mostly chat, write and make images, Flat AI Unlimited at $20 a month with no credit counting is a simple deal, and its free plan lets you explore first.
Its Music Video Studio, with lip sync to vocals you upload, is also a specific tool we do not match one for one.
If you want to know the cost of each clip before you make it, pick the exact model per shot and build a full film from a script, we built Pixel Dojo for that.
What the talking scene costs on Pixel Dojo
Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.
The two stills cost 1.5 credits each, the spoken clip 30 credits and the captions 5 credits, and every tile lists its own price.
Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.
