VEED alternative

VEED alternative: from one photo to a captioned talking clip

Pixel Dojo takes you from a still to a speaking, captioned vertical clip in three steps, on the model you pick for each one, with every credit price shown first.

VEED started as an online editor and now generates video with AI models too. We wanted to show the same job done here, so we made a shop owner's portrait, had her give a tip on camera and burned in captions.

30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

She lifts the steamer toward the felt fedora, then looks into the camera and says, "Steam your felt hat, never wash it, and it keeps its shape for years." A small nod and a smile, a soft hiss of steam and quiet shop ambience.

Vertical handheld clip, filmed at arm's length: a red bearded hiker in his thirties in a bright hallway holds up a pair of thick grey wool hiking socks and says, "These kept my feet dry for four days on the trail." Natural daylight, a soft laugh, quiet room tone.

Tight vertical framing: two hands melt a stick of deep red sealing wax over a cream envelope, press a brass stamp into the pool and lift it to reveal a crisp leaf emblem, soft daylight on an oak desk, the hiss of the flame and a satisfying press.

Three steps from photo to captioned clip

  1. 1

    Make the shop photo

Nano Banana 2.1 made a vertical portrait of a hatmaker in her forties at her bench, steamer in hand, a felt fedora on a wooden block beside her, for 1.5 credits.

  2. 2

    Make her speak

Seedance 2.5 used that photo as its first frame. She turns to the camera and gives a one line tip about felt hats, with her voice and the shop sounds in the same render.

  3. 3

    Burn in captions

Auto captions transcribed her line and burned it in with pop style highlights, so the clip works with the sound off.

Every step, exactly as we ran it

Each tile shows the prompt, settings and credits for that step. Each step used the output of the one before.

  • Seedance 2.5 kept her face, hair, apron and the whole shop from the photo while she turned and spoke.
  • Her line is spoken in the clip, so there was no separate voiceover to record or sync.
  • Auto captions followed her words and timing and cost 5 credits for the 5 second clip.

VEED vs Pixel Dojo for AI video

Everything in the VEED column comes from its pricing page FAQ and its AI video generator page, read on October 15, 2026. VEED's plan prices load in the browser and were not in the page text we could read.

When VEED is the better pick

VEED is a full browser editor first. If you edit long recordings, translate subtitles, work in a team workspace and want AI generation inside the same timeline, it is a strong all in one choice. Note that its plans are charged per seat.

If your work starts with generation, with the best model for each shot, characters you can reuse and whole films built from a script, Pixel Dojo goes further for one plan price.

What our three step clip cost

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.

The photo cost 1.5 credits, the talking clip 30 credits and the captions 5 credits. Each tile lists its own price.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.

VEED questions

What is a good alternative to VEED for AI video?

Pixel Dojo runs Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and more, makes talking clips from a single photo, adds auto captions, and shows every credit price before you generate.

Do VEED AI credits roll over?

No. VEED's pricing FAQ says the allowance refreshes when the subscription renews and credits do not carry over.

How does VEED charge for teams?

VEED's pricing FAQ says plans are charged per seat, so the price is multiplied by the number of editors in the workspace.

Can I make a talking video from one photo?

Yes. Use the photo as the first frame on Seedance 2.5 and write the line in the prompt. Our hatmaker clip was made that way, then captioned in one more step.
