Medeo alternative

Medeo alternatives for people who want to choose the engine

Medeo builds a video from a chat. Pixel Dojo lets you see which model draws each shot, run WAN 3.0, Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 side by side at a price you see first, and hand the whole project to Sensei when you want the chat experience.

Medeo's home page promises you can chat a video into existence and edit it the same way. We wanted to understand what sits under that chat, so we wrote one animated explainer shot and gave it to three video engines, then built a captioned talking shot one step at a time.

10 credits ($0.63) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

Stylized 3D animated explainer shot: a courier in her forties in a teal jacket rides a yellow cargo bike up a sunny hillside street of pastel houses, stops at a blue door and hands a parcel to a man in his sixties who waves thanks, rounded clay like shapes, soft bright light. Sound: a bike bell, birdsong and a cheerful ukulele.

What Medeo is, and the job it does

Medeo is a chat based AI video maker. Its home page says you describe a video in conversation, ask for changes in plain language like making a part faster or changing the music, and export in 16:9 or 9:16. It pitches itself for ads, explainer videos and animated shorts, with stock media, hundreds of AI voices and character consistency.

Its models section lists 14 models, including Sora 2, Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Midjourney. Its pricing page says some premium models, such as Sora 2, Kling 2.6 Pro and Seedance 1.5 Pro, are kept for paid plans.

Step 1: a cinematic keyframe on Nano Banana 2.1 for 1.5 credits.

Cinematic still of a cheesemaker in his sixties with a grey beard and a canvas apron standing in a stone cellar lined with wooden shelves of round cheese wheels, one wheel in his hands, a warm lamp overhead, 35mm photo, shallow depth of field.

Steps 2 and 3: Seedance 2.5 animated the keyframe and spoke his line, then Video Autocaption set the words on screen.

How chat to video works under the hood

A chat video tool is a director sitting on top of video models. It turns your message into a script and a list of shots, sends each shot to a model, then lays voice, music and subtitles over the result.

That means the look of every shot comes from the model that drew it. The same shot can come back as clay animation, a polished 3D render or a picture book, depending on the engine. When the chat hides that choice, you cannot steer it.

On Pixel Dojo you can do it either way. Run each shot yourself on the model you pick, as we do below, or describe the project to Sensei, which plans the shots, prices them, waits for your approval and reviews every take.

  • WAN 3.0 matched the brief most closely, from the teal jacket and yellow cargo bike to the blue door and the wave, for 10 credits.
  • Kling 3.0 gave the strongest clay look, like a stop motion set, and played the whole handover in one take.
  • Seedance 2.5 directed it like a short film, with a follow shot and a closing wide, but swapped the cargo bike for a small delivery scooter.
  • All three came back with sound built in, so the explainer had its bell and music without a separate audio step.

When Medeo is the better pick

If you want to type a sentence and get a finished, edited video with stock footage, voice and subtitles laid out on a timeline, Medeo is built around that, and its editor lets you drag sounds and assets into place.

If you want to know which engine drew each shot, pay per clip at a price you see first, and still have a director when you want one, we think Pixel Dojo fits better.

What our shots cost

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.

The three courier clips cost 10, 20 and 30 credits. The cheesemaker keyframe cost 1.5 credits, his talking shot 30 and the captions 5.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.

Medeo questions

What is a good Medeo alternative?

Pixel Dojo runs WAN 3.0, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 side by side with each price shown first, and Sensei plans and reviews a whole video project once you approve the plan.

How much does Medeo cost?

Medeo's pricing page lists Pro at $314 a year for 700 credits a month, Insider at $912 a year for 2,400 and Elite at $2,832 a year for 9,000, plus a free plan and Enterprise.

Which video model is best for animated explainers?

In our courier test WAN 3.0 followed the brief most closely for 10 credits, Kling 3.0 gave the best clay animation look, and Seedance 2.5 was the most cinematic.

Can I add captions to an AI video?

Yes. Video Autocaption transcribes the speech in any clip and burns in word by word captions. Our cheesemaker clip above was captioned that way for 5 credits.

Can I make videos by chatting on Pixel Dojo?

Yes. Describe the project to Sensei. It plans the shots, prices the plan, waits for your approval and reviews every take before it reaches you.
