The Pictory problem: your script outgrows the stock library
Pictory turns scripts, blog posts, slides and audio into edited videos with AI voices and captions. Its pricing page lists stock from Getty Images and Storyblocks on every plan, 5 million videos on Starter and 18 million from Professional up.
Stock is great for generic shots. It gets thin when your script names something specific, like the moment a worker pulls a cap off a bottle belt. Pictory's AI Studio can generate clips too, but its own usage guide puts Starter's monthly AI credits at about 1 minute of AI video.
We wanted to see how close generated b roll gets to a specific line of script, and what it costs per shot when every price is on the page.
One line of script, three video models
Our script line: green, brown and clear bottles rattle along a conveyor toward the crusher while a worker in his forties pulls out a stray cap. We sent the same prompt to three models at 16:9 with sound. Each tile shows its settings and credits.

- WAN 3.0 matched the script best, worker, vest, belt and crusher all in one shot, for 10 credits.
- Kling 3.0 gave the most tactile close up, bottles sliding along the rail, for 20 credits.
- Seedance 2.5 made the moodiest frame, with light beams through high windows, for 30 credits. It reads as a calm opener more than an action shot.
- All three came back with sound built in, so the clip works under a voiceover or on its own.
