Clideo alternative
Clideo alternative for when the clip itself has to be made
Clideo is a handy toolbox for files you already have. Pixel Dojo makes the footage from a prompt, reframes it for any feed and burns in captions, with the credit price on every step.
Most people open Clideo to fix a file: shrink it, turn it vertical, add subtitles. We ran that same job on a clip we generated ourselves, so you can see where AI changes the work and where a plain editor is still the right tool.
30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

What an online video editor does, and what it leaves to you
Tools like Clideo work on a file you bring. Its home page lists more than 30 of them: cut, crop, merge, compress, resize, speed, an auto subtitle generator, a translator, text to speech and screen recording. That covers most of the fixing a creator does before posting.
What a toolbox cannot do is give you footage you do not have. If the shot was never filmed, no crop or filter will make it. That is the job AI video models now do, and it changes the order of the work: make the clip, then reshape it for each feed, then caption it.
Reframing is the step people underestimate. A crop from 16:9 to 9:16 keeps only about a third of the frame and throws the rest away. Our Video Reframe tool went the other way in the test below: it kept the whole shot and painted new picture above and below it.
Captions matter because most feeds autoplay muted. Burned in words carry the message even when the sound is off, and they need the exact spoken line, so they come last, on the final cut.
Short clips we generated for feeds and reels
Every clip here was made on Pixel Dojo from the prompt shown. Tap one to start from it.
Stop motion paper craft on WAN 3.0 with sound, for 10 credits.
Stop motion animation on a wooden desk: a square of green paper folds itself step by step into an origami frog, which then springs forward in two little hops toward a pencil, top light, slight frame jitter. Sound: soft paper creases and two tiny taps.
A food close up on Kling 3.0 with the grinder sound built in.
Slow motion close up of black pepper being ground over a bowl of glossy cacio e pepe, flakes of cheese falling, steam rising, warm kitchen light, dark ceramic bowl. Sound: the crunch of the grinder.
A cozy b-roll shot on Seedance 2 Mini, good under a voiceover.
Close up of a hand lowering a turntable needle onto a spinning black vinyl record, the tonearm settles, warm lamp light on a walnut console, shallow focus, slow push in.
A mood shot on Veo 3.1 Lite, the cheapest clip on this page.
Close up of rain streaming down a cafe window at night, blurred amber city lights beyond the glass, a hand in a knit sleeve wraps around a steaming mug on the sill. Soft rain tapping and a quiet cafe murmur.
One clip through make, reframe and caption
We generated a 16:9 market scene with a spoken tip on Seedance 2.5, turned it into a 9:16 vertical with Video Reframe, then ran auto captions on the vertical. Each tile shows its settings and credits.
Medium shot at a flower market stall in the morning, a florist with rolled up sleeves wraps a bouquet of peonies in brown paper, looks up at the camera and says: "Cut the stems again when you get home." Soft overcast light, buckets of tulips in the background. Sound: paper crinkling, distant market chatter.
- Seedance 2.5 delivered the spoken tip to camera with a natural market backdrop of tulip buckets, sound included.
- Video Reframe did not crop the florist. It kept the full shot and invented a wooden market roof, sky and her legs to fill the tall frame.
- Auto captions transcribed her line word for word and set it in the clean style on a dark box under the bouquet.
- The vertical keeps the original audio, so the captioned clip is ready for reels and shorts with or without sound.

Where each tool fits in a posting workflow
Generate the shot you never filmed
Pick the model per job: talking scenes on Seedance 2.5 or Veo 3.1, food and product close ups on Kling 3.0, stop motion and stylized shots on WAN 3.0.
Reframe once per feed
Make the master in 16:9, then reframe it to 9:16 for reels and shorts and 1:1 for a grid post.
Caption the final cut
Auto captions read the speech in the finished clip and burn it in, so the words match what is said.
Trim and join in your editor
For cutting, merging and compressing files, a timeline or toolbox editor like Clideo is still the quick way.
When Clideo is the better pick
If you already have the footage and only need to cut, merge, compress or convert it, Clideo is quick and it runs in the browser and on phones. Trustpilot shows 4.8 for Clideo from 11,430 reviews, and most of them praise how easy it is.
If the clip you need does not exist yet, or you want it made, reframed and captioned in one place, we built Pixel Dojo for that.
What this workflow costs on Pixel Dojo

Clideo questions
What is a good alternative to Clideo?
For editing files you already have, any browser editor works. When you also need new footage, Pixel Dojo generates it on Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0, reframes it for each feed and burns in captions.
Is Clideo free?
Clideo says you can use it free with some limits on available features. Its App Store listing says Clideo Pro removes watermarks, takes uploads over 500 MB and saves in FHD or 4K.
Does Clideo give refunds?
Clideo's pricing page says it does not issue refunds after purchase, including when a subscription renews because you forgot to cancel. You keep access until the paid period ends.
How do I turn a horizontal video vertical?
Start with the subject near the middle of the frame, then reframe and check the result. On Pixel Dojo, Video Reframe takes a clip and an aspect ratio such as 9:16, as in the test above.
Can Pixel Dojo add subtitles to a video?
Yes. Auto captions transcribe the speech in a clip and burn the words in, with pop, highlighter or clean styles.
