ImageFX alternative
ImageFX alternative: Google's image model and three rivals in one tab
ImageFX has folded into Google Flow. Pixel Dojo runs Google's Nano Banana 2.1 next to Seedream 5, FLUX 3 Image and GPT Image 2.5, shows each price first, and turns any still into a clip on the same plan.
Google moved ImageFX into Flow this year, and the old ImageFX link now opens Flow. If you liked typing a prompt and getting a strong photo back, we tested where that habit goes next: one film photo prompt on four engines, then the favorite turned into the clip above.
10 credits ($0.63) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

What happened to ImageFX: quick answers
Is ImageFX gone?
As a standalone tool, yes. Google wrote on February 25, 2026 that the best capabilities of Whisk and ImageFX are moving directly into Flow, and the old ImageFX address now redirects to Flow.
Can I keep my old ImageFX images?
Google said that starting in March 2026 you could opt in to transfer your Whisk and ImageFX projects and assets into your Flow library.
Is image generation in Flow free?
Google's Flow update says you can generate images for free in Flow. Google AI plans add monthly Flow credits: 200 on Google AI Plus, 1,000 on Pro, and 10,000 or 25,000 on Ultra.
What model did ImageFX use?
Google launched ImageFX on Imagen 2. Flow now builds Nano Banana image generation into its core experience.
What is the closest alternative?
Pixel Dojo runs Nano Banana 2.1, Google's current image model, beside Seedream 5, FLUX 3 Image, GPT Image 2.5 and more, so one prompt can go to several engines.
More ImageFX style prompts, made on Pixel Dojo
Every image and clip below was made on Pixel Dojo with the prompt shown.
We gave the GPT Image 2.5 still to WAN 3.0 as a start frame. Ten credits for 5 seconds with lake sound built in.
The woman hooks the lantern on the post and steps back as the green canoe rocks gently at the dock, the sky fading from orange to dusk, crickets, lapping water and a creaking porch board.

Lettering was never ImageFX's strong suit. Ideogram 4.5 set every word of this seed packet cleanly.
Vintage botanical seed packet design for "MOONLIGHT TOMATO" with a hand painted vine of pale yellow tomatoes, the words "HEIRLOOM VARIETY" in small caps beneath, aged cream paper, faded green and gold ink, flat front view.

Painterly illustration on Kling Image for 1 credit, brush texture and all.
Gouache illustration of a small night ferry crossing a calm fjord under green northern lights, tiny lit portholes, snowy mountains on both sides, visible brush texture, deep teal and violet palette.

A clean product still on Qwen Image 2.1, the kind of shot ImageFX users made for shops and mockups.
Studio product photograph of a hand thrown sea glass green ceramic tea kettle on a pale birch board, a thin curl of steam from the spout, soft window light from the left, clean cream backdrop.
One film photo prompt on four image engines
ImageFX was known for photographic results from a plain prompt. We wrote one Kodachrome style scene of a lakeside bait shop at dusk and ran it unchanged at 4:3 on four engines. Each tile shows its settings and credits.

Kodachrome style 35mm photograph of a lakeside bait shop on wooden stilts at dusk: a woman in her fifties in a faded denim apron hangs a lantern on the porch, a green canoe tied to the dock below, pink and orange sky mirrored in the still water, warm light in the windows, fine film grain.

- All four delivered the woman, the lantern, the green canoe and the mirrored dusk sky from one plain prompt, the ImageFX habit in one line.
- GPT Image 2.5 wrote the cleanest signage, a hand lettered list of LIVE BAIT, MINNOWS, WORMS and more, and added a sleeping dog nobody asked for.
- Nano Banana 2.1, Google's current model, gave the richest wood and window glow, though the smallest posters on the wall blur into made up lettering.
- Seedream 5 framed the most like a real Kodachrome snapshot, and FLUX 3 Image pulled back to show the whole shop on its stilts for 1 credit.

When Google Flow is the better pick
If you want free image generation with Google's own model and already pay for a Google AI plan, Flow is the natural home for ImageFX habits. Its lasso tool for editing one area of an image is handy too.
If you want to compare engines on the same prompt, pick a different look per job, or plug image generation into your own app through an API, we think a multi model studio fits better.
Moving from ImageFX: a deeper look
ImageFX made one thing easy: type a sentence, get a good picture. What it never offered was choice. Every prompt went to one Google model, and you could not ask another engine for a second opinion.
That is the habit worth changing. In our test the same sentence produced four different shops, from a lettered red storefront to a misty snapshot. Seeing them side by side is the fastest way to learn which engine suits your style, and each one costs 1 to 2.5 credits.
The second habit is motion. Flow pairs images with Veo, and we do the same with more choice: any still can become the first frame of a WAN 3.0, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0 or Veo 3.1 clip. When a project grows past single images, Sensei can plan the shots, price them and review every take before it reaches you.
What the images on this page cost
Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.
The four test images cost 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 credits, and the WAN 3.0 clip cost 10. Every tile shows its own price.
Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.
ImageFX questions
What happened to Google ImageFX?
Google announced on February 25, 2026 that the best of Whisk and ImageFX was moving directly into Flow. The ImageFX address now redirects to Flow.
Is there a free ImageFX alternative?
Google says you can generate images for free in Flow. Pixel Dojo is a paid studio that shows the credit price of every image before you generate, with plans from $10 a month.
Can I use Google's image model on Pixel Dojo?
Yes. Nano Banana 2.1 runs on Pixel Dojo next to Seedream 5, FLUX 3 Image, GPT Image 2.5 and others. Our bait shop scene above was made on it.
Which engine is best for ImageFX style photos?
In our test Seedream 5 looked most like a real film snapshot, GPT Image 2.5 handled signs and lettering best, and Nano Banana 2.1 gave the richest light. Try one prompt on two or three and keep the one you like.
Can I turn an image into a video like in Flow?
Yes. Use any still as the start frame on WAN 3.0, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0 or Veo 3.1. Our bait shop clip started from the GPT Image 2.5 still.
