Segmind alternative

Segmind alternative: one media API, with a studio to test in

Pixel Dojo puts the image and video models developers reach for behind one endpoint, prices every call before you send it, and gives your team a browser studio to try a prompt before it ships in code.

Segmind is a developer platform with a very large model catalog, serverless APIs, PixelFlow workflows and dedicated GPUs. We sent one product photo brief to four image models through our public API, then animated the cheapest result.

30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

The 0.5 credit Klein photo used as a first frame on Seedance 2.5. It moved the pot into a sunlit kitchen and added the sound.

One product photo brief through four image endpoints

We posted the same e-commerce brief to four image models through /api/v1/models/{apiId}/run, square format, default settings. Each tile shows the prompt, settings and credits it used.

Seedream 52.5 credits
  • All four kept the cobalt enamel, the folded linen towel and the pale sage backdrop, so any of them works as a catalog shot.
  • Flux 2 Klein 9B cost 0.5 credits and came back first, which makes it the one we would call for drafts and bulk listings.
  • GPT Image 2.5 read "lid slightly ajar" as an invitation to show a stew inside. Nice for a recipe page, a surprise for a plain packshot.
  • Seedream 5 and Nano Banana 2.1 followed the lid and steam detail most literally, at 2.5 and 1.5 credits.

What the API gives you beyond the call

  • A price before every request

The catalog at /api/v1/models lists each model's credit cost, and every model page shows it too, so a pipeline can budget before it sends anything.

  • Docs written from the spec

Each model's API docs, OpenAPI entry and LLM docs are generated from the same spec the endpoint validates against, so the documented parameters are the accepted ones.

  • A studio for the whole team

Designers try a prompt in the browser, developers paste the same settings into code. Our dutch oven chain above ran the same way in both.

  • Agents included

Connect the hosted MCP server and an AI agent can price, run and check generations on your account.

When Segmind is the better pick

If you need language, speech and niche open models next to your image calls, Segmind's catalog is far wider than ours. If you want reserved GPUs with unlimited requests, its dedicated endpoints are built for that, and we do not sell GPU time.

If your product makes images and video, we think one media API with clear per call prices, a hosted MCP server and a studio your designers can use is the simpler stack.

What our API test cost

Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. API credit packs start at $5, and commercial use is included on every plan.

The four product photos cost between 0.5 and 2.5 credits each. The Seedance 2.5 clip made from the Klein photo cost 30 credits for 5 seconds at 720p with sound.

Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.

Segmind questions

What is a good alternative to Segmind?

Pixel Dojo gives developers one API for the leading image and video models, with credit prices listed before every call, docs generated from each model's spec, a hosted MCP server and a browser studio.

How much does Segmind cost?

Segmind lists a pay as you go Flexible tier started with $10, Pro at $39 a month with $50 of credits, Business at $99 and Scale at $599, plus custom Enterprise plans.

Does Pixel Dojo offer dedicated GPUs like Segmind?

No. Every call on Pixel Dojo is billed per generation at the price shown first. If you need reserved GPU hours, Segmind's dedicated endpoints are built for that.

Which image model is cheapest for product photos?

In our test Flux 2 Klein 9B cost 0.5 credits per image and still kept the product, towel and backdrop we asked for.

Can I train a custom model?

Yes. Pixel Dojo has LoRA trainers for FLUX, Qwen, WAN and Z-Image, and the trained models run through the same studio and API.
