Amuse alternative
Amuse alternative: the open models you ran locally, in a browser tab
Pixel Dojo runs Z-Image Turbo, FLUX.2 Klein and Qwen Image 2.1 in the cloud next to Nano Banana 2.1 and the top video models, so you keep the open models Amuse users like without a big GPU or a model download.
Amuse made local image and video generation easy on Windows. We took one canal boat scene, ran it on three open model families Amuse supports plus Nano Banana 2.1, and turned the best still into the clip above.
30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

What we made next without installing anything
Every image and clip below was made on Pixel Dojo with the prompt shown.
Aerial video with sound on WAN 3.0 for 10 credits. A local app needs a strong GPU for this kind of clip.
Slow aerial glide over terraced tea fields in morning fog, pickers in wide straw hats moving between bright green rows, sun breaking over the ridge, birdsong, wind and distant voices.

Botanical illustration on Seedream 5, with fine ink lines and soft washes.
Botanical watercolor illustration of a fig branch with two ripe purple figs, one cut open to show the seeds, broad lobed leaves, fine ink outlines, soft washes on textured cream paper.

A still life on Z-Image Turbo for a quarter of a credit.
Overhead photograph of a dressmaker's worktable: spools of colored thread, a tomato shaped pincushion, a brass thimble, a tape measure curling across a half sewn linen dress, chalk marks on the fabric, soft daylight from a window.

A long exposure night scene on FLUX 3 Image.
Long exposure night photograph of a mountain pass road, red and white car light trails tracing every switchback down the slope, the Milky Way arching over jagged peaks, cold blue tones, sharp foreground rocks, wide angle lens.
The problem: a local app depends on its maintainer and your GPU
Amuse ran image and video models on your own Windows PC. heise reported in April 2026 that its original developer, TensorStack-AI, stopped working on it and published the source, and that an open source project carried it on with version 3.2.0.
The same report says the special focus on AMD hardware is gone, AMD optimized models were removed, and larger models crashed in its test while models up to about 4 GB ran fine. The project README now points NVIDIA users to RTX cards.
None of that is a problem in the cloud. We wanted to see how the same open model families look when someone else runs the GPU.
One canal boat scene on four image models
Z-Image, FLUX.2 Klein and Qwen Image are all model families the Amuse README lists. We ran the same prompt on each, plus Nano Banana 2.1, at 4:3. Each tile shows the credits it cost.

Wide photograph of a green canal narrowboat moored at dusk, its roof turned into a garden of potted tomatoes, herbs and string lights, a woman in a knit hat watering the plants, still water reflecting the warm lights and a cool blue sky, 35mm film grain.

- Nano Banana 2.1 read the brief most completely: the woman on the roof, the watering can, the lights and their reflections in the water. We used it as the start frame for the clip above.
- Qwen Image 2.1 grew the lushest roof garden, packed with tomato plants, in cool dusk tones.
- Z-Image Turbo put her on the stern deck with the can and a tidy row of pots, for a quarter of a credit.
- FLUX.2 Klein 9B drew the cleanest boat, with her watering pots on the stern, for half a credit.

When Amuse is the better pick
If you have a capable GPU, want everything to stay on your own machine and like tinkering with open models offline, a local app such as Amuse is hard to beat on privacy and running cost.
If you would rather not manage drivers, downloads and memory limits, or you want the newest closed models such as Nano Banana 2.1, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 next to the open ones, we think the browser is the better deal.
Pixel Dojo pricing for former Amuse users
Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every plan includes every model and commercial use.
The four stills in our test cost between a quarter of a credit and 1.5 credits each; every tile lists its own price.
Under our refund policy, a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, in full if under 20% of the credits are used and pro-rated after that.
Amuse questions
Is Amuse still being developed?
heise reported on April 4, 2026 that TensorStack-AI stopped developing Amuse and published the source, and that an open source project released version 3.2.0 after taking it over.
What is a good Amuse alternative without a GPU?
Pixel Dojo runs Z-Image Turbo, FLUX.2 Klein and Qwen Image 2.1 in the cloud, alongside Nano Banana 2.1 and video models like Seedance 2.5 and WAN 3.0, so you need no local hardware.
Can I still use Z-Image and FLUX.2 like in Amuse?
Yes. Both are on Pixel Dojo, as our test above shows, and Z-Image Turbo cost a quarter of a credit per image.
Can Pixel Dojo animate a still image?
Yes. We used the Nano Banana 2.1 still as the start frame for the Seedance 2.5 clip at the top of this page, with sound generated in the same pass.
