AIGAZOU alternative

AIGAZOU alternative: write in Japanese, pick the model that gets it

Pixel Dojo runs Seedream 5, Nano Banana 2.1, GPT Image 2.5, Kling Image and Z-Image Turbo side by side, takes prompts in Japanese, and shows the credit price of each before you generate.

AIGAZOU is a Japanese image and video site you can try with no sign up. Its pitch is simple: type in Japanese and get a picture. We wanted to know which models really understand a Japanese prompt, so we wrote one and ran it on four.

2.5 credits ($0.16) per image at 2K. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

What AIGAZOU is, in plain terms

AIGAZOU is a Japanese language site for AI images and video. Its home page says it is free with no registration and allows commercial use, and it bundles a text to image generator with photo tools like background removal, upscaling, colorizing old photos and anime filters.

Under the hood it switches between hosted models. Its own model menu lists Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana, Z-Image, Grok Image, GPT-4o Image and Seedream 4.5 for images, and Seedance 2.0, Veo 3.1 and Kling for video.

How a Japanese prompt reaches an image model

A site like AIGAZOU does not draw the picture itself. Your prompt goes to a model, and each model reads Japanese with a different text encoder. Some were trained heavily on Japanese and Chinese, some mostly on English, so the same sentence can come back faithful on one model and loose on another.

Text inside the picture is the hardest part, because a model that guesses at Japanese lettering can invent characters that look right and mean nothing. Unless you need words in the frame, ask for plain signs and lanterns with no lettering, as we did below.

One Japanese prompt, four image models

Our prompt describes a white haired cook making ramen at a night stall in the rain, under plain red lanterns, as a 35mm film photograph. We ran it unchanged on four models at 4:3. Each tile shows the settings and credits it used.

  • All four read the Japanese correctly: a white haired cook, steam, red lanterns, rain and a wet alley, with no English in the prompt.
  • Seedream 5 and Nano Banana 2.1 followed the plain lantern instruction most cleanly and kept the moody film look.
  • GPT Image 2.5 took the 35mm film cue literally and added a film frame border around the shot.
  • Kling Image drew a round lantern with a gold tassel, a different lantern style from the paper lanterns the other three made.
