OpusClip alternative
OpusClip alternative for shorts you have not filmed yet
OpusClip cuts shorts out of a long video you already have. Pixel Dojo makes the short itself: the talking clip, the vertical reframe, the burned in captions and the B-roll, on one credit balance with every price shown first.
We started with nothing but a sentence. A beekeeping channel needed a vertical short with a hook line, captions and a cutaway shot. Every step below ran on Pixel Dojo, in order, and each tile shows what it cost.
30 credits ($1.88) per 5 s clip at 720p with audio. Included in every plan, from $10/month.

More vertical shorts we made from a single prompt
No source footage, no stock library. Tap any clip to start from the same prompt.
A one line tip in 9:16 on Seedance 2.5 with sound. The kind of hook a clipper has to dig out of an hour of footage.
One continuous vertical medium shot of a bicycle mechanic in a plain grey work shirt with no patches, standing beside a front wheel on a repair stand in a small shop, he gives the wheel a spin, then looks at the camera to say, "Squeeze your tires before every ride. Soft means trouble." Tools on a pegboard behind, warm shop light, a ticking freewheel.
Kling 3.0 holds the pleating hands steady from the first frame to the last. Food channels use shots like this as a loop.
Vertical overhead close up of floury hands pleating a dumpling on a wooden board, a row of finished dumplings beside a bowl of filling, soft window light, the tap of a rolling pin and quiet kitchen sounds.
Sport B-roll on WAN 3.0, already vertical, with wheels rumbling on concrete.
Vertical slow motion shot of a skateboarder carving the curved wall of a concrete bowl at dusk, wheels throwing a little dust, orange sky behind, wheels rumbling on concrete and a distant cheer.
A maker story opener on Seedance 2.5 in 16:9. Run it through Video Reframe for the vertical cut.
Medium shot of a surfboard shaper in a dusty workshop holding up a freshly shaped board, he turns to the camera and says, "Every board starts as a block of foam and a guess." Foam dust in the light from a high window, a sanding hum in the background.
From one sentence to a captioned vertical short in four steps
Step one made the talking clip on Seedance 2.5 in 16:9. Step two reframed that same clip to 9:16. Step three burned in word by word captions. Step four made a matching vertical cutaway to splice in.
Medium wide shot of a beekeeper with her veil pushed back, standing beside white wooden hives in a lavender field, she looks to camera and says, "Bees can tell a storm is coming hours before we can." Late afternoon sun, bees drifting past, a low buzz and a light breeze.
Vertical macro shot: a gloved hand lifts a wooden frame from a hive and golden honey drips slowly from the capped comb, sunlight glowing through it, shallow depth of field, a soft buzz and a slow drip.
- Seedance 2.5 delivered the hook line with her voice, lavender field and evening sky in one 5 second take, with a low buzz under it.
- Video Reframe did not crop her out of the shot. It extended the scene to 9:16 and kept her centered between the hives.
- Autocaption heard the line correctly and set it word by word, the current word lit in yellow, low enough to stay clear of the app buttons.
- The honey macro came out already vertical, so the cutaway needed no reframe at all.

How to build a short on Pixel Dojo, step by step
Write the hook as dialogue
Put the exact line in quotes in a Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0 prompt. The model speaks it, with room sound, in one take.
Reframe once
Send the clip to Video Reframe with 9:16. It fills the new space instead of cropping your speaker.
Burn in the captions
Video Autocaption transcribes the speech and lights each word as it is said. Pick a highlight color to match your channel.
Generate the cutaways
Ask for B-roll in 9:16 from the start so it drops straight into the edit.
Or hand it to Sensei
Describe the short and Sensei plans every shot, prices the plan, waits for your approval and reviews each take before it reaches you.
When OpusClip is the better pick
If you already record long podcasts, streams or webinars, OpusClip is built for that job. Its home page says ClipAnything finds the best moments and assembles them into shorts, and its pricing page lists publishing, scheduling and brand templates around it.
Pixel Dojo does not scan an hour of your footage for highlights. We make new footage, and we think that is the harder part to find. Many channels use both: OpusClip for the clips they filmed, Pixel Dojo for the hooks, cutaways and episodes they did not.
What this short cost on Pixel Dojo
Plans are Lite $10 a month for 160 credits, Pro $25 for 500 credits, Pro Max $50 for 1,100 credits. Every model includes commercial use, and every model page shows its credit price before you generate.
We paid 30 credits for the talking clip, 8 for the reframe, 5 for the captions and 30 for the honey cutaway. We would make the next short the same way.
OpusClip questions
What is a good OpusClip alternative?
If you have no long video to clip, Pixel Dojo makes the short from a prompt: a talking clip with sound, a 9:16 reframe, burned in captions and B-roll, all on one credit balance.
How much does OpusClip cost?
OpusClip's pricing page lists Free at $0, Starter at $15 a month, Pro at $29 a month and Business at a custom price.
Does OpusClip have a free plan?
Yes. OpusClip's home page FAQ describes a free plan with 60 minutes a month, and its pricing page says free exports carry watermarked captions and expire after 3 days.
Can Pixel Dojo add captions to a video I already have?
Yes. Upload any clip with speech to Video Autocaption and it burns in word by word captions in the style and highlight color you pick.
Can I turn a 16:9 clip into 9:16 on Pixel Dojo?
Yes. Video Reframe changes the aspect ratio and fills the new space, as in step two above, so the speaker stays in frame.
